Aggression at teh Fullring Games these days

I was always used to alot of aggression at NL400 and 600 but NL200 was always kinda soft in case of this - even BvB for the most part. However after the last sessions I seriously have to reevaluate here...
I remember back maybe 1.5years ago when I was 4bet/bluffing JJ Blind vs. Blind and prayed "please don't ship, please don't ship, plz don't ship" and after I got shipped on I had a tough decision... (don't wanna discuss here anyways if it was clever 4betting JJ in the first place when I'm afraid to get it in but w/e).
However these days when I 4bet JJ BvB I'm shouting something like "ship it" or "ez game", fistpumpsnap and open the Dom in the meanwhile.
Pretty sick when you have the exactly same hand in the exact same spot sometimes even vs. teh same opponents like 1.5years ago but what was a bluffcatcher once is a big premium moneymaker now. Conclusion: Games are evolving - variance is increasing.
I'm not 100% sure why this development is so drastic but I assume it is something like 25% because my own game got more aggressive and 75% because games in general got more aggresive.

Here some sample hands I experienced over the last days. I cannot remember 5 hands if I think about the whole last year where an opponent was stacking of with a pair smaller than TT or an unpaired hand smaller than AQ preflop Blind vs. Blind for 100BBs vs. me:

1: this is vs jj_raise, a 6max reg who lately started playing FR. I don't had particular history with him but he seems to be extremly spewy and insanely aggressive. So pretty much the standard 6max midstakes kind of guy. His shove here is beyond terrible - I probably would've even called 99 here if I decided to 4bet this for some reason.

2: in this hand moneymike is the villain. he is around forever at 200NL, kind of nitty and even if the hand looks standard I had to think about it because he is folding 85% to a 4bet in this exact spot. In the end I have AKo however. I'm not thrilled calling it off but basically will not fold this kind of hand to anybody ever besides Vincent Wille and Daniel Weinman. I'm highly surprised when he shows up with T9s - I mean if he is shipping this what kind of hands is he folding when he folds 85% over large sample there???

3: here I get it in good again vs. a small pocket BvB. Villain is eunhobae who grinded his way up from NL25 to 200 and is more or less crushing (probably running good though). He plays a pretty unorthodox style with alot of limping, limp/raising and overshipping but it seems to pay off for him. His shove here is pretty meh but since we have definitely some dynamic going on I think it is not as bad as ship in hand No1.

4: here a little other hand were I squeeze for value and got 4bet by the coldcaller. I hate his play and I think it is insanely minus EV even though the table is shorthanded. He is repping nothing but I don't know if he is thinking enough to realize this. He has never a big pair and basically never AK in this spot so I have him smoked everytime. I don't really mind his 4bet there but I think when you 4bet here it's a 4bet/fold with blockers even if it is s00ted...

5: last but not least 2 examples with my new premium hand JJ: this is vs. my good buddy RobertFripp who is extremly aggressive a pretty good player imo. Don't like the his ship too much bc KQo is massively dominated by everything but as we see he has life cards and almost binked it. Lucky me ;)

6: last example for the day is vs. some sort of new reg. He seems to be extremely aggressive but I'm not sure if he really knows what he is doing. He 3betting about 10% (lol) and I saw him later coldcalling with AKs on a deep table when a fish shipped 200BB over an openraise which was pretty lol as well but the guy might to enjoy variance...

Final conclusion of all this: Let's make Fullring the new 6max. Let's get in AJ+ and 88+ BvB as a default. I mean it's alot more fun for everybody and a little bit more variance will make nobody broke! Amirite? Wait...

Kommentare:

  1. I used to play alot more 200nl last year. Wasn't AJ, 88+ the default then as well? You probably have a tighter image but I was pushing and calling almost any pair in BvB. 88 seems actually pretty tight even for that time.

  3. Most of the SSFR aggro regs are just fucking idiots. Given the fact that there's often a pretty healthy fish:reg ratio at the tables these days, they'd be better off trying to get the fish into pots rather than 3-betting with mediocre hands.
